Fuss Over Ethics and Officeholders
I took particular notice of the photo of Wright on April 14. There stood a man, accused of conduct unbecoming a United States congressman, facing possible reprimand by a committee of his peers, even loss of his powerful position.
And whose picture do we see towering behind him? None other than that paragon of integrity, George Washington. His hand is outstretched, as if to say, “Now really, gentlemen. This is not at all what we had in mind!”
The photographer deserves a commendation for a splendid bit of irony.
