Robert Amory Jr., 74, deputy director of the Central Intelligence Agency from 1952 to 1962 and later head of the international division of the Bureau of the Budget. Amory practiced law in New York and Washington after commanding an amphibious Army regiment in World War II. He was a professor at Harvard Law School from 1946 to 1952 before joining the CIA. He was secretary and general counsel for the National Gallery of Art from 1973 until his retirement in 1980. In Washington on Wednesday.
