UniCare Financial Corp. reported a 23% increase in net income for the first quarter, to $1.7 million from $1.4 million a year ago. Revenue rose 18%, to $15.8 million from $13.4 million. UniCare is the holding company for Irvine-based UniCare Insurance Co., which writes California worker-compensation insurance.
