Ice Breaks Roof; May Have Fallen Off Plane

PORTLAND, Ore. —
A chunk of ice the size of a volleyball crashed through the roof of a house during a thunderstorm, and a meteorologist said it may have come from an airplane.
Most likely the ice accumulated on the wing of a plane and then fell, crashing into the house Monday night, said Ted Buehner of the National Weather Service office at Portland International Airport. No one in the home was injured.
