Following are capsule reviews of the final screenings in the American Film Institute Los Angeles International Film Festival at the Cineplex Odeon Century Plaza Cinemas:

‘Miracle in Rome’

Colombia, 1988, 80 minutes 8:50 p.m.

When a man discovers that the body of his beloved 7-year-old daughter remains uncorrupted after being buried for 12 years, he takes her to Rome in an effort to have her canonized. The political complications that arise from his campaign turn into a sly satire on both the Church and the bureaucratic process. However, the overtones of necrophilia and even pedophilia in some scenes are not for the squeamish.
