Police homicide detectives Wednesday were investigating the slaying of a downtown man whose nude body was found in his ransacked apartment, authorities said.
The body of John McClendon, 52, was found by police shortly after 10 a.m. Tuesday in a bedroom of the apartment in the 600 block of 3rd Avenue, police spokesman Bill Robinson said.
An autopsy revealed that McClendon died of head wounds suffered after he was bludgeoned, a deputy coroner said.
