Prime Computer: The Natick, Mass., computer company reported a first-quarter net loss of $5 million, contrasted with net income of $14.5 million a year earlier. Revenue of $387 million was up 6% from a year ago. The net loss included a $6.3-million pretax charge for expenses associated with MAI Basic Four Inc.’s hostile tender offer for Prime. Prime said it has been told by several customers that they have deferred purchases due to concerns and uncertainty raised by the proposed takeover.
