A 22-year-old Fullerton man was fatally injured when his motorbike plowed into the back of a car that was stopped in traffic on the northbound Santa Ana Freeway just south of the San Diego Freeway split, the California Highway Patrol said. The man, who was not identified pending notification of relatives, was taken by helicopter to Mission Hospital Regional Medical Center in Mission Viejo, where he was pronounced dead, said Officer Alvin Yamaguchi. Yamaguchi said the man apparently had not seen that traffic was stopped on the freeway. “He went right into the back bumper,” Yamaguchi said. “His bike was completely shoved underneath the car.” The driver of the car, Steven D. Guiltinan of Orange, suffered minor injuries, Yamaguchi said.
