San Diego city schools trustees approved Tuesday a plan to change grade attendance patterns at La Jolla schools. Under the plan, all La Jolla sixth-graders will go to middle school and all ninth-graders will go to La Jolla High beginning in September, 1990. By shifting the sixth- and ninth-graders, officials hope to help solve an elementary enrollment crunch by taking advantage of expected empty classrooms at the secondary level.
