Remains of Four U.S. Servicemen Identified
The remains of four more missing U.S. servicemen returned from Indochina have been identified, the Navy announced.
The remains, among 38 repatriated by Vietnam on Dec. 15, 1988, will be flown Tuesday to Travis Air Force Base, Calif., to be returned to their families, the Navy said Friday.
The remains were identified as those of Air Force Lt. Col. Charles E. Cappelli, of Providence, R.I., who was lost over North Vietnam on Nov. 17, 1967; Lt. Col. Robert J. Panek Sr., of Chicago, who was lost over North Vietnam on Jan. 28, 1970; and Capt. George B. Lockhart, of Alexandria, Va., who was lost over North Vietnam on Dec. 21, 1972.
The identity of the other man is being withheld at the request of his family, the Navy said.
