Ione Skye, the 18-year-old actress currently starring in “Say Anything,” says she is thankful she has found a career at such an early age. “Knowing what you want to do at a young age is great, and being able to do it while you’re in your teens is even better. Most kids my age are wondering what they’re going to do in life, so it’s a relief for me. I don’t have that problem.” Skye is is the daughter of 1960s singer Donovan Leitch but dropped his last name while growing up in California with her mother after her parents divorced. She decided on the name Skye because “that was the (Scottish) island where I was conceived.” Her first name was selected by her mother and it is the Greek word for purple jewel.
