Top Trader Subpoenaed in Probe: Paul Tudor Jones II, a top trader in Wall Street’s commodity markets, said he has been subpoenaed in the government’s probe of possible market abuses, but investigators indicated that he is not a target. Jones, 34, whose Tudor Investment Corp. manages more than $500 million in commodity funds, said he was cooperating with the Commodity Futures Trading Commission in its civil investigation of trading practices on four New York futures exchanges. Another trader, Craig W. Effron, has been subpoenaed by a federal grand jury in a criminal investigation headed by the Manhattan U.S. attorney’s office into possibly illegal trading practices in the markets, his lawyer said. Effron is the first trader to be publicly named as receiving a grand jury subpoena.
