Fran Botwin, a proponent of the monument, says “you can’t have figures dancing in a field of flowers to remind people that war is horrible.”
Lest she forget, Ms. Botwin should be reminded of the symbolic Flanders Field red poppies sold by the veterans of World War I, which are indeed “to remind people that war is horrible.”
