Pathe Communications Corp.: The Los Angeles motion picture maker and distributor reported that first-quarter profit slipped to $10.3 million from $10.5 million a year ago on revenue of $88.7 million, down from $92.6 million. An extraordinary gain from the early retirement of debt amounted to $23.9 million; the loss before the extraordinary item was $13.6 million.
