Speedway Scratch Main Goes to Christian

Alan Christian of Murrieta Hot Springs won the four-lap scratch main event Friday in front of 3,842 in the weekly speedway program at the Orange County Fairgrounds in Costa Mesa.

Keith Christo of Whittier was second, Jerry Hicks of Glen Avon third and Shawn McConnell of Brea fourth.

Brad Oxley of San Clemente won the eight-lap handicap main event. Jim Sizemore of Woodland was second, Christian third, McConnell fourth and Mark Hannah of Sunset Beach fifth.
