Robert S. Smith, executive vice president and chief financial officer of Nellcor Inc., a maker of medical monitoring systems, has resigned effective at the end of the firm’s fiscal year. Nellcor, in Hayward, said Smith is quitting for personal reasons. His position will be filled temporarily by Michael Downey, a vice president and controller. James Corenman, a founder and chief engineer, also resigned as a full-time employee. He signed a one-year agreement under which he will provide technical expertise on a part-time basis.
