National Education Corp., Irvine, said second-quarter earnings and revenue could be flat, or lower, compared to the same period last year because of slow sales at its Applied Learning International subsidiary. For the second quarter last year, the training company posted net income of $7.2 million on revenue of $98.9 million. National Education’s stock closed Friday at $21.375 per share, down $2.50 for the week.
