Singapore Hangs 2 as Drug Traffickers

SINGAPORE —
Two Singaporean drug traffickers were hanged Friday for trafficking in nearly 45 pounds of drugs in 1982, a prison spokesman said.
Singapore has hanged 24 drug traffickers since 1975 when it introduced a mandatory death penalty for anyone convicted of trafficking in more than half an ounce of heroin.
