Accused multiple killer Ramon Salcido called a Santa Rosa newspaper to thank the man who found his surviving 3-year-old daughter, Carmina, in a county dump with her throat slashed. Salcido, a 28-year-old winery worker, is charged with murdering his wife, mother-in-law, two sisters-in-law, a co-worker and his other two daughters during an April 14 rampage. He was captured in Mexico five days later. He told the Press Democrat in a call from Sonoma County Jail: “I want to thank the guy who found my daughter. I love her, and I’m thinking about her. . .She’s everything I have.” Carmina and the bodies of the other two little girls were found by Mike Miskell, who was looking for auto parts.
