Canada Night Air Fares, Free Far East Lecture

“Nighthawk” fares have been introduced between June 17 and Sept. 8 by Air Canada for flights from Los Angeles to Toronto, Montreal or Ottawa. The round-trip price of $345 to Toronto and $393 to the other two cities is available only for trips from Los Angeles on nightly flight 794 and returning on flight 793. The Los Angeles Geographical Society is the sponsor of a free slide show and lecture, “Compelling Connections; a Discussion of Costa Rica,” by Katherine Nava. Between now and Sept. 8, Air Canada is offering business travelers a half-price option on each of its North American routes, except those to or from Florida. Under the program, travelers who buy a regularly priced Executive Class ticket can receive a 50% discount on a second ticket for a spouse or other family member.

Beginning June 1, Northwest Airlines will offer nonstop service three times a week between Los Angeles and Osaka, Japan. Flights will leave Los Angeles on Monday, Thursday and Saturday at 12:15 p.m.

Lufthansa will begin a new service between Los Angeles and Dusseldorf on June 13. The non-stop service will operate twice weekly, with the flight continuing on to Munich. Wardair Canada, recently purchased by Canadian Airlines International, is offering service between Los Angeles and Toronto on Saturday and Sunday until June 18, with additional flights on Tuesday and Wednesday between June 20 and Sept. 12. The airline is flying between San Diego and Toronto on Saturday until Sept. 30.
