A 42-year-old Swede with a history of drug abuse and violence will be charged today with the 1986 murder of Swedish Prime Minister Olof Palme, Chief Prosecutor Anders Helin said in Stockholm. He said the case against Christer Pettersson was base on identification by several witnesses who were on the Stockholm street where Palme was fatally shot as he walked home from a movie with his wife. Pettersson, whose past crimes include the bayonet murder of a youth, has been in custody since last December while the prosecution has been preparing its case.
