P.M. BRIEFING : Construction Spending Rises 0.1%

WASHINGTON —
Construction spending, propped up by an increase in work on government projects, edged up a slim 0.1% in April after dropping in the previous three months, the Commerce Department said today.
Overall, spending on both public and private construction projects rose to a seasonally adjusted annual rate of $414.9 billion in April after dropping 0.3% in March, 0.6% in February and 0.7% in January.
