Michigan High Court Rejects Plea on Abortion

LANSING, Mich. — Michigan’s Supreme Court refused Wednesday to rule on the constitutionality of a voter-passed ban on state payment for abortions ahead of the state Court of Appeals. In refusing to bypass the lower court, the justices said they were not convinced that the question needed to be decided so quickly.
