LOCAL : 6 Colombians Held in Cocaine Raids
Six Colombian nationals were arrested and $9-million worth of cocaine was seized during raids at five locations in Yorba Linda, Diamond Bar and Rowland Heights Wednesday night.
Concluding a four-month investigation, deputies from the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department, assisted by U.S. Customs agents and Montebello police, seized the 30 kilos of cocaine as well as $300,000 in U.S. currency, six vehicles and four cellular telephones during the raids, a sheriff’s department spokesman said.
Luis Velasquez, 36; Carlos Arbelez, 37; Juan Herrera, 24; George Cadavid, 27; Carlos Franco, 31, and his father, Antonio Franco, 66, were booked on suspicion of conspiracy to distribute cocaine. The six are being held in the Los Angeles County jail on $1-million bail each.
