Patricia McBride, long one of America’s leading ballerinas, is to dance her farewell performance Sunday night in Manhattan’s Lincoln Center with the New York City Ballet. McBride, for 28 years a principal dancer with the company founded by the late George Balanchine, is scheduled to perform excerpts from some of the roles Balanchine choreographed for her. She reportedly intends to retire to family life in Bloomington, Ind., with her husband, former NYCB dancer Jean-Pierre Bonnefoux, and two children. She is 46.
