“The Art of ‘Who Framed Roger Rabbit,’ ” a selection of “top pieces of animation art” from the 1988 Touchstone/Amblin hit movie, will be on display at Sotheby’s in Beverly Hills Friday through next Monday. The works in the exhibit, including Roger, Jessica, Baby Herman, Benny the Cab and various classic cartoon characters (Bugs Bunny, Mickey Mouse, Betty Boop, Woody Woodpecker), are part of a group of 560 cel set-ups that will be auctioned at Sotheby’s in New York June 28. Each set-up consists of a cel from the film mounted over a still from the corresponding live action sequence. Pre-sale price estimates range from $800 to $20,000. To date, “Roger Rabbit” has grossed more than $316 million internationally.
