NATION : N.Y. Rape Victim to Receive Therapy
The Wall Street banker who was raped and beaten into a coma while jogging in New York’s Central Park was transferred today to a Connecticut rehabilitation center where she will undergo therapy to help her live independently.
The 28-year-old woman left Metropolitan Hospital on Manhattan’s Upper East Side and arrived about 10:30 a.m. at the 121-bed Gaylord Hospital on a wooded hill overlooking Wallingford, spokeswoman Lori Ann Brass said.
The woman may have suffered permanent brain damage when she was attacked as she jogged through the moonlit upper reaches of the park late on the night of April 19.
