Long Beach : Children’s Art Featured in Historic Homes Tour
- Share via
A show of children’s art and tours of historic homes will be featured Sunday as the Willmore City Heritage Assn. presents its annual house tour.
This year’s tour will feature houses built between 1890 and 1925 in various stages of restoration, including some that have been divided into apartments. Pupils from Edison Elementary School will display their paintings based on impressions from walking tours of the historic district, according to the association.
The Willmore district is north of downtown Long Beach and is the oldest area of the city. It is dotted with turn-of-the-century Victorian houses, many of which are being restored to previous splendor by residents.
The tour and art show are being organized in Drake Park, 951 Maine Ave., from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Tickets are available for $8 in advance from the association office at 1213 Cedar Ave. or for $10 at the event.
