The two SDSU players selected were outfielder Harry Henderson (Monte Vista) by the Cincinnati Reds, and left-handed pitcher Kevin Nielsen by the Kansas City Royals.

Henderson hit .348 with 15 doubles and 34 RBIs last season.

Kevin Lofthus, a 1984 graduate of Mount Carmel High, was drafted by the Oakland A’s out of Nevada-Las Vegas. Lofthus, a first baseman in the field, stuck to designated hitter this season because of an injury.
