El Toro : Students Collect $1,000 to Aid People of China
After watching the turmoil in China unfold on the evening news, student members of the California Scholastic Federation at El Toro High School collected $1,000 from students and faculty as a Red Cross donation to forward to China.
“Students were really concerned, and I think we’ve learned just how lucky we are here in the United States,” said Sara Bone, a CSF representative.
The students conducted the drive Thursday after they became interested during a talk about the events in China with their adviser, William Bailey, who also teaches history at the high school.
