Bush OKs Disaster Relief

WASHINGTON —
President Bush on Thursday approved federal disaster aid to help the state of Maine recover from damage caused by storms and flooding that began May 5. Approval of Maine’s request for a disaster declaration authorizes use of federal funds to pay 75% of the repair or replacement costs for damaged roads, buildings and other publicly owned property.
