ADDIS ABABA, Ethiopia —
An earth tremor with a magnitude of 5.0 hit parts of southern Ethiopia on Thursday, cracking walls, felling electric power poles and breaking windows in the town of Sodo, the official Ethiopian News Agency said Friday.
Some people were slightly hurt as they stampeded out of schools and hospitals in Sodo, 160 miles south of the capital, Addis Ababa, but there were no reports of deaths or serious injury, it added.
