Bush Administration officials said they expect to grant full most-favored-nation trade status to Hungary in the next few months and are working on other trade benefits for that country as part of their effort to encourage reform and democratization there and in Poland. Deputy Assistant Secretary of State William Bodde Jr. told a House Ways and Means subcommittee that U.S. officials were working on a trade offer for Hungary much like the one Bush announced for Poland on April 17.
