Bally Building New Plant: Bally Manufacturing Corp., the Chicago-based parent corporation for gaming properties in Nevada and New Jersey, plans to build a major high-tech manufacturing plant in Las Vegas. The plant, to be located on a 10-acre site near McCarran International Airport, will produce gaming machines and lottery terminals. Completion of the 150,000-square-foot facility is scheduled by mid-1990. Bally is a $2-billion company engaged in the design, production and marketing of products and services in the leisure and recreation industry. In addition to manufacturing slot machines, the company is also the largest casino operator in the world, the largest operator of health clubs and the largest producer of products for state lotteries.
