WORLD : Israeli Planes Blast Base, Killing 3

BSHAMOUN, Lebanon — Six Israeli warplanes blasted a Palestinian guerrilla base deep inside Lebanon today, in Syrian-controlled hills above Beirut. Three fighters were killed and nine wounded in two bombing runs.
A police spokesman said the base outside the hilltop village of Bshamoun harbored Palestinian guerrillas from four groups, all factions of the Palestine Liberation Organization with headquarters in Damascus, Syria.
The Israeli military command said the attack was aimed at one of the groups, the Palestine Liberation Front.
