Chula Vista
A jail inmate who was stabbed repeatedly Tuesday night during a fight among prisoners was listed in good condition Wednesday at UC San Diego Medical Center, sheriff’s deputies reported.
Guy Mitchell Miller, 28, underwent open-heart surgery after being stabbed in the chest, stomach and back during a 9:30 p.m. scuffle at the Chula Vista jail, deputies said.
Miller, who was being held on a parole violation, was in a unit designed to hold 24 inmates, but Tuesday night the unit held 112 inmates, deputies said.
Authorities said jail officials are investigating the incident. No arrests have been made.
