The State : 72 Arrested in Gang Sweep
Nineteen local and state law enforcement agencies made more than 70 arrests in a two-day anti-gang sweep through metropolitan west San Bernardino County. San Bernardino sheriff’s spokesman Jim Bryant said 86 officers executed search-and-arrest warrants on suspected gang members and conducted field searches of others detained for minor violations and traffic infractions. The arrest tally, coming in from each agency separately, reached 72 by Saturday afternoon, Bryant said. Most of the arrests were for possession or sale of rock cocaine and other illegal drugs, he said. Those arrested were processed through a mobile jail. The raid, covering western San Bernardino city, Rialto and unincorporated Bloomington, was the area’s fourth since October.
