THE COCAINE WAR
As long as there are people who feel they need drugs to cope with life, there will be people willing to provide them with the means of fulfilling that need. Rather than our throwing money at law enforcement, education or treatment, legalization would be a more enlightened approach. If the Colombian drug lords want to conduct an international business, let them pay taxes on their profits like the alcohol and tobacco companies do. I’m sure this would do wonders for our trade deficit.
