IBM Expected to Introduce New PC: International Business Machines is expected to unveil a new, top-end personal computer at a trade show Tuesday that will rival machines made by competitor Compaq Computer, industry analysts said. But they differed on whether the machine would be a zippy 33-megahertz machine based on Intel Corp’s 80386 chip, or a computer based on Intel’s even faster 80486 chip, which is not yet in production. An IBM spokesman said a news conference is planned at the PC Expo show, but declined to give more details.
