Man Dies in Hit-Run Accident on Freeway
A car struck and killed a man Sunday night in a hit-and-run accident on the transition road from the eastbound Ventura Freeway to the southbound Hollywood Freeway in Universal City, the California Highway Patrol reported.
It was not immediately known why the man, who was about 39 years old, was walking along the transition road when the accident occurred about 7:30 p.m., Officer Judy Underwood said.
The victim’s name was withheld until relatives could be notified.
The transition road was closed for more than an hour following the accident, authorities said.
