Kingdom Falls, Loses to Jackson

Roger Kingdom of the United States, a two-time Olympic 110-meter hurdles champion, fell at the 10th and final hurdle Friday night as Britain’s Olympic silver medalist, Colin Jackson, beat him for the first time in their six outdoor meetings in a wind-aided 12.99 seconds--the fifth fastest time ever.

The United States led both the men and women’s competitions in the Four Nations track and field meet after the first 15 events.

The U.S. men’s team had 107 points, followed by Britain with 96, West Germany with 65 and the Soviet Union with 64. The U.S. women’s team had 63 points, followed by the Soviet Union with 49, Britain with 45 and West Germany with 43.
