A federal grand jury indicted seven people resulting from an undercover investigation into cocaine trafficking and money laundering at South Lake Tahoe. South Lake Tahoe Mayor Terry Trupp and his wife were not among those indicted. U.S. Atty. David Levi said the Trupps and three other people previously arrested on related charges have already been charged and formal indictments will come later. The charges are all part of the 20-month investigation that federal officials call “Operation Deep Snow.” Indicted were William Culbertson, 43; Robert Moon, 42; Glenn Miller, 39; Perry McCullough, 47, all of South Lake Tahoe; John Mack, 31, of Rescue; Vernon Hayes, 29, of Roseville, and Rafael Gonzalez, 19, of La Puente. Culbertson and Moon were charged in an eight-count indictment with conspiracy to distribute cocaine between June, 1988, to June, 1989. McCullough, Gonzalez, Mark, Hayes and Miller were charged in a separate 24-count indictment with conspiracy to distribute cocaine during the same time period.
