Saving Water
Your editorial (“Less Drain on Resources,” June 17) about the blessings to expect from low-flow toilets, is meet and right. In the fullness of political time this type of water closet may well be mandated for all of California.
In the meantime, by bringing the water problem home to the people and enlisting support for conservation, each individual can make an immediate contribution. For it is patently unnecessary to flush the toilet after every use. If each of us suspended the flush but twice a day this would save an enormous quantity of water.
