San Diego city schools will be eligible for up to $100,000 to use for innovative programs designed to increase parent participation under a new project approved Tuesday by the Board of Education. At least 10 grants will be made to schools that either write up their own participation plans or incorporate existing community parent involvement programs. A parent-educator task force will review proposals. Successful schools must provide 25% of the funds from their own budgets.
