Adi Liberman, the former research director for last year’s Proposition O campaign to stop onshore drilling, was named administrative assistant in the district office of Assemblyman Tom Hayden (D-West Los Angeles).

The 32-year-old Los Angeles resident was also issues director for Los Angeles City Councilman Zev Yaroslavsky’s mayoral campaign. Before that, he worked in Washington and New Jersey as public affairs director for health care firms.

Liberman is a graduate of Pitzer College in Claremont and earned a master’s degree from Princeton University’s Woodrow Wilson School of Public and International Affairs.

He replaces Carol Kurtz, who directed Hayden’s district office for five years before resigning this month to attend law school.
