Israelis enraged by an attack on a commuter bus that killed 14 passengers stoned Palestinian vehicles Saturday, and at least one Arab was killed, Israeli and Arab reports said.

Arab reports said that Palestinian Jamal Nasir, 31, of Gaza City, was stoned to death and four other passengers were injured.

Nasir’s automobile reportedly overturned on a highway near the southern Israeli desert town of Netivot after rocks were hurled from a passing Israeli-owned car.

Arab motorists also were stoned in Jerusalem’s Shmuel Hanavi Quarter, where police used tear gas in battles with dozens of Israeli militants who blocked a major traffic artery, police said.

In northern Israel, a group of Jews beat up three Arab teen-agers on a beach in the Caesarea coastal resort, also in retribution for Thursday’s bus attack, said a police spokesman.

Another Palestinian, Mustafa Abed Saed, 42, was killed Saturday when he was shot in the head and neck in Gaza City as he rode his motorcycle to work at Gaza city hall, Arab reports said. The reports said Saed was suspected of providing information to authorities.

Masked Palestinians also reportedly killed Ismail Hussein Ghoush, 55, of Yatta in the West Bank, suspecting him of collaboration.

In Gaza’s Rafah camp, soldiers shot and killed Ziad Zaki abu Olwan, 20, after opening fire on stone-throwing demonstrators in a marketplace. At least nine of the 22 Palestinians wounded Saturday were injured in the Rafah confrontation, the reports said.
