L.A. Gear Announces Stock Offering: L.A. Gear Inc., maker of athletic shoes and apparel, filed a statement with the Securities and Exchange Commission to register more than 1.16 million shares for a proposed public stock offering. Proceeds of the offering will be used to reduce debt and for general corporate purposes, the company said. Goldman, Sachs & Co., Merrill Lynch Capital Markets and Montgomery Securities will underwrite.
