120 Male, Female Prostitutes Arrested

A task force of 80 Los Angeles vice officers arrested more than 120 male and female prostitutes in the Hollywood area during a 12-hour period ending early Wednesday, police said.
The prostitutes were arrested between 2 p.m. Tuesday and 2 a.m. Wednesday in the Hollywood and Wilshire areas, neighborhoods just west of downtown and northeast of Dodger Stadium, Vice Officer Chuck Kiel said.
He said such sweeps are conducted once or twice a month “to keep a lid on things.” Half of those arrested were released pending court appearances.
