Saatchi & Saatchi Announces Changes

After relying on client Toyota Motor Sales U.S.A., for the vast majority of its advertising business, Saatchi & Saatchi DFS/Pacific announced a series of executive moves as part of its efforts to attract new clients.

Joe Cronin, 44, formerly vice chairman of the agency’s Torrance office, was named president of that office. He replaces Nelson (Skip) Riddle, 42, who was named executive vice president of the agency and will be in charge of new business development for the Torrance and San Francisco offices.

Stan Becker, 52, formerly vice chairman and executive creative director of Saatchi’s New York office, become vice chairman and chief creative officer of the Torrance and San Francisco offices. Also, Robert Cormier, 51, previously executive vice president-Toyota Dealer Assn. business, was named executive vice president-retail development for the agency. Robert Hatfield, 60, formerly deputy director of the Toyota Dealer Assn. account assumes the role of executive vice president and executive management director.

“We’ve been operating with two cylinders in an engine that needs four,” said Jim Lindsey, who will remain chairman and chief executive. “Now, we’ve got all the cylinders.”
