President Bush plans to name an Indiana housewife who has AIDS to the new National Commission on AIDS, Administration and other sources said. Bush’s selection of Belinda Mason, a 30-year-old mother of two who contracted the human immunodeficiency virus during a blood transfusion, will be made public “as early as Thursday,” an Administration source said. Mason’s selection follows months of lobbying by AIDS activists and addresses criticism that major AIDS study panels in the past have excluded people with the disease.
